Our Mission is Supporting Men with Breast Cancer
By raising awareness of male breast cancer and providing free support to men who have been diagnosed.
Our goal is to raise awareness of male breast cancer and to provide free support to men who have been diagnosed.
It sounds simple. But in a world inundated with pink ribbons and campaigns rightly focused on women’s health, the reality for men facing this disease is often embarrassment, isolation, and keeping silent.
We are here to change that narrative.
Our mission is in two parts: breaking down the deadly barriers of ignorance and building up a vital network of support. Here is why our work matters, and what it means in practice.
Part 1: Raising Awareness is Saving Lives
The biggest challenge facing male breast cancer isn’t just the disease itself; it’s the dangerous myth that "men don't get that."
Because it is rare - accounting for roughly 1% of all breast cancer cases—it often falls off the radar of general health discussions. Some men are unaware that they even have breast tissue, let alone that it can develop cancer.
This lack of awareness has serious consequences. It leads to complacency. It leads to men ignoring a lump or a change in their nipple because they assume it’s "nothing." And crucially, it leads to late diagnoses, often when the cancer is more advanced and harder to treat.
Our awareness mission is about action. We aren't just putting up posters; we are starting uncomfortable conversations. We are getting leaflets into GP surgeries and cancer wards across the country. We are informing men what to look for and empowering them to see their doctor without embarrassment.
We want to reach a point where a man checking his chest is just as normal as a woman checking hers.
Part 2: No Man Should Face it Alone
The second part of our mission was born from lived experience.
Receiving a cancer diagnosis is terrifying for anyone. But for a man diagnosed with breast cancer, this is often compounded by profound isolation and embarrassment.
The entire infrastructure of breast cancer support is, understandably, designed for women. From the magazines in the waiting room to the topics discussed in standard support groups, men can often feel like square pegs in round holes. They may have excellent medical care, but lacking the emotional counterpart - someone who looks like them, who understands the specific challenges to their masculinity, their body image, and their mental health.
We are filling that gap. We believe that financial worry should never be a barrier to emotional well-being during cancer treatment. That is why our support services are, and always will be, completely free.
We are building a peer-to-peer network where men can connect with others who have walked this path. It’s a space to ask the awkward questions, to vent without judgment, and to find camaraderie in a situation that feels incredibly lonely. It's not about clinical therapy; it’s about the healing power of shared experience among men.
Join the Mission
When we say our goal is awareness and support, we mean we are fighting for a future where fewer men die because they didn't know the symptoms, and where no man has to face his diagnosis alone
Whether you are a patient, a family member, or someone who just wants to help, there is a place for you here. Let’s talk about it. Let’s support each other. Let’s break the silence.
